Michael Stark brings his spoken word poetry performances to the San Francisco Bay Area, after many years of performing in the Big Apple, New York City!

In addition to poetry, Michael brings to us his sculpture art, in the form of primeval faces, using basic elements of stones, concrete, and rare metals.

Michael Stark was born Chicago, IL. He produced rock shows in NYC, NY, with the group Image in the 60's, with numerous guests, including Richie Havens, and The Grateful Dead.

Winner of San Francisco's dancing poetry award, Michael has published in many poetry anthologies, including Woodstock's undiscovered poets anthology.

He was a staff member of NYC's Big Apple Circus. Michael’s been awarded a citation by the NY state senate! He performed in the Woodstock poetry festival the same year as Lawrence Ferlingetti.

Michael Stark is the winner of the New Paltz poetry competition. He was formerly with the Stark Reality Theater Co., which used Michael Stark's poetry for the substance of its performance art pieces.

Michael’s latest project is the development of a non-profit Bookstore / Café, for artists to have a place to share their creative spirit, work together, perform, and present their art to the community.
